Planting 2008 roots for harvest 3 seasons hence.  A total of about 1000 peony roots planted in single rows about 16" apart and 5' between the rows.  The blue green coloring in the center row is an application of Greensand

cover crop of peas and oats were planted between the rows in July and have been just mown in this picture.

These are 1st yr plants in mid-June right after I went thru with the tiller and before sowing a cover crop.
